while discussing my new project with the Type Three Email List, a man named Simon sent me pics of his complete 1962 VW 1500. Below are the pics and some comments between us.

HI I have a 62 (0056002)

My car Has never been restored & it had one owner for 33 years/garaged & only driven in the summer for vacations.

The photos of the exterior of the car hide some work that needs doing but the interior is standard original. Thats why I spent a week getting it back home

I flew to Sweden repared/serviced the car for a day. Drove across Sweden at 45mph 350 miles then got the ferry to England "24 hours".

I once read a guy drove 3000 miles to get his new car home!!
